A Convicting Quote

People do not drift toward holiness. Apart from grace-driven effort, people do not gravitate toward godliness, prayer, obedience to Scripture, faith, and delight in the Lord. We drift toward compromise and call it tolerance; we drift toward disobedience and call it freedom; we drift toward superstition and call it faith. We cherish the indiscipline of lost self-control and call it relaxation; we slouch toward prayerlessness and delude ourselves into thinking we have escaped legalism; we slide toward godlessness and convince ourselves we have been liberated.
- D.A. Carson (For the Love of God)

This post was not from a specific pea, but just a general post. That's why I didn't put my name under it. :)

So do you all just agree on it?

oh nice quote btw. :)

Yeah, we all have to check with one another before a post goes up. Just to agree on the content.

Well I think that quote's so true.

Apart from the grace of God, we would all be blind and lost in our own sin. Isn't it just scary how natural & easy it is for us to sin, and then try to justify our sin by calling it "tolerance" or "freedom"? Yet God choses to bring us out of that & save us!
